Help! Squeaky Corsa!

My previous car which had a regular noise from a front wheel except when the brakes were applied. Came and went depending on the ambient temperature. When I investigated it, I concluded it was rust on the disc catching against something : filing it down a little got rid of the noise.0

Thanks everyone - I did have to drive across a dry and dusty field at a larp event a few weeks ago so it could be a tiny piece of gravel

I called the garage, they said they will have a look and if need be "wash" the brakes before doing anything else.
Fingers crossed it's not expensive to repair!

Just a quick update to those of you who were lovely enough to give me advice ^_^
I had very worn brake pads and something called "brake binding"? Anyhoo, £45 later, all sorted. I have been advised that my front drop links need replacing in the next month or so, but car is perfectly OK to drive till payday, ha ha!
Thanks!

In that case even more important to have it serviced at the correct intervals then worn brake pads would be picked up before they are down to the metal and squealing.
You are lucky the discs have not been damaged that could have been expensive.0 -
