How many loans!?

We are just about to make a big move to our "forever house" and in order to keep our current brilliant tracker mortgage (which would restrict how much we could increase it by) we are looking at getting loans or credit cards to do works to the property. But is it possible to have multiple credit cards and personal loans, or is there a limit to how much you can borrow in this way?

lenders are usually concerned about your ability to repay so would be concerned about the total amount of debt.

not so much the total amount of debt, more the total monthly repayments.
