Yes, I have a job. And your point is?...

19 YEARS out of work clearly indicates there is something wrong with/something the OP is doing that is very, very wrong.

My point is it's not really your place to comment, unless you happen to be in a position to give the OP a job. They say they have done the work programmes, not that they didn't bother to go.

By some measures I've been out of work 16 years, as I never managed to get a paid job, but start work in a few weeks due to a lucky break after doing unpaid work experience. I attribute this as due largely to difficulties arising from a disability called Aspergers. Of course, technically I wasn't unemployed for all that time as been to training courses and university, and have volunteered for 3 organisations including most recent work experience.

Obviously, take two candidates, one who is still in work, and one who hasn't worked for a few years - almost every employer would go for someone who is currently in work. Then as time goes on, it becomes more and more difficult.
Wanted a job, now have one.

This is 100% TRUE. No matter what people say on here about jobs being advertied for immediate starts they very rarely will take on someone who is not working. The longer you are out of work the harder it gets but who it to blame? The company is as far as I am concerned as I have had it said to me 'oh they won't want to see you are you are not working' or 'sorry we do not employ the unemployed'

If you speak up to agencies saying 'how am I meant to get a job then' you are seen as argumentative, but how are you meant to get ANY job? It's not easy at all.

I guess you could try phoning them 24hours prior in order for it to be ready for you as you produce your ID.

How utterly ridiculous! Because I have a job I cannot comment - because, of course, I have absolutely no experience of unemployment :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    You do talk crap, wantsajob.

If you save your JSA I can only assume you have no bills to pay or anything. All my JSA goes on bills and I have not bought any clothes or shoes etc in over a year.

I have to pay rent to the council, which has gone up but not really much considering how much my sister has to pay.
I also give my mum money as i live at home with her, never moved out. cant afford to, the rest goes in the bank for other expenditure over the year.
Car insurance, car tax, repairs on car, car, clothing, shoes, food which doesnt come under household, toiletries, things only i use, razors, shaving foam, etc.
I estimate all the items, where i can i buy on offer.
The car is mine, but its not used just for me.,

To answer mara69, i wish i knew what it was people dont like about me, I cant understand why 19 years down the line i'm still unemployed. When i have interviews I dress smartly, shave, shower, look smart. I answer all questions politely and truthfully. I dont usually asks questions as I dont think of them, due to usually sitting there thinking am i going to get this job, and if I do think of any questions I ask them.
And its not been 19years in a row. I've done 2 pizza jobs, and car part delivery, tried starting up and running my own business on new deal which basically meant on £75 a fortnight at the time. Various other back to work programs which have all been ****, infact one of them courses cost me a job interview. due to the fact when i arrived I told the bloke running it I had to phone the boss at 11.15 matalans as he was only going to be in the office for around 20min to make my appointment to see him, yet when 11.15 came around and i went to get up to make the phone call i was told to sit down as the bloke running course hadnt finished speaking and when he finally did let me go to the phone it was 12.15 and was dinner time, so 1 the boss wasnt in his office so no point in phoning, which after being told what time to phone, makes it look like I'm not good at time keeping and also that i wasn't interest in the job.

When i was sanctioned I did phone book delivery, wasnt really my choice, my sister wanted to do it as she was low on money aswell and she was working at the time, so she thought it would put some money in my pocket, better than nothing for 7 months.

Still no letter from the jobcentre about whether or not i'm being sanctioned so much for their it takes 3 days. however no money has been paid into my account so i'll wait to find out if i get a letter on monday 17th. and see how long it is if i am.
