so i would need to seek out the land owner, thing is my tickets have come from where i work. a while ago staff were told electronicaly if a pcn wasnt paid they would face discipline. i quickly fired of emails etc and the statement was removed
The word about the scammers is spreading like marmite here in the westcountry.

But it will be the Coop who are paying these 'numpties' to put these pcn's on the cars in the first place

Well, you could always word the community notice in a clever way. Rather than saying "don't pay" put someting like "got a parking ticket? Need help? Read this free guide to paying your parking ticket" and then a link to these forums... :p

Or better still, make up some notices to display and blue tac them to the insides of the windows of your own car so anyone walking by can see them.

I'd love to see the unfair dismissal complaint that went in for that!

Wouldn't it be nice to have a shedload of money and buy the land immediately adjacent to a car park, erect (with appropriate planning consents of course) a massive billboard and place a huge ad on it stating all those statistics about private parking "fines". There would not be a thing the PPC could do but how much fun would it be dealing with the increasingly threatening and desparate requests to remove it. :p

Nah. I would buy up the land and put a parking notice offering parking at half the price of the PPC next door, and if it is free, offer 'penalty charges' at half the other company's price :rotfl:

    As above.
It would be better if you tarmaced it, put in decent lighting, marked it out, put in marked disabled bays, and offered free unlimited parking to everyone. You could do that next to every carpark in the country, then there would be no parking problems.
    May cost you though.
But then at least all the other car parks and PPC would be out of business.

PPCs don't usually do any of that either though, except rare ones like NCP when they own a car park, or when a PPC tenders for a smaller or new car park (but when I have seen this mentioned, the occupier pays the PPC to do this). It costs the PPC nothing as usual.

You seem to misunderstand the industry and 'what they do for their money'. In general, the only up-front cost to a PPC is for the tools of the trade to scam people = their signs and cameras/staff on site, and their fake PCNs.

They don't maintain, clean or repair Supermarket car parks nor provide lighting nor mark out bays. The supermarkets fork out for all that and then the scammers make their approach for squatters' rights and roll out the scam.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
