Product for fine & wavy hair?
Comments

Up until early 2011 I would have told you I have wavy hair, turns out I have ringlets! Read up on the Curly Girl method because products are only a small part of the equation - styling your hair from soaking wet, not using a brush or twisting your hair into a towel turban make a huge difference. The Boots Essentials curl cream gets rave reviews from many curlies but I suspect it will be too heavy for your fine hair.
After washing I scrunch out the excess water with my hands, then scrunch in Fructis Repair & Shine conditioner (as a leave in), scrunch in load of Boots Essentials hair gel, put my hair into a microfibre towel using a variation on 'plopping/ plunking'. Basically instead of the regular towel twist that pulls your hair straight 'plopping/ plunking' fixes your hair all curled up against your head whilst the excess water is removed. Alternatively you can scrunch out excess water with a woven cotton tea towel or microfibre towel. Not cotton terry cloth which removes too much water and makes hair fluffy/ poofy/ frizzy.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

And also thanks to belfastgirl23, that website is very good! My hair fits the description of "wavy" hair perfectly, sadly the products they recommend are quite pricey!! But the forum seems to have lots of good tips.
Much preferred the Charles Worthington original (in a bronze & orange tube) and Aveda curl cream. Both of which are no longer available.Truth always poses doubts & questions. I use that too, my hair isn't wavy but has choppy layers and it defines them well

That's the one!!! I am useless with names!!!
It really defines my waves and my hair looks so soft when I've used that, lots of people think I have used a really expensive product :TRaven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0 -

When I've washed my hair - currently using Naked bounce curl shampoo and conditioner - I wrap it up in a microfibre turban - leave it until most of the moisture is out and then scrunch mousse in for a bit and leave it to dry naturally. If I'm using the creme I get a small amount out of the tub, mix it between my hands and then run through my hair and again scrunch a bit and leave it to dry naturally. Trial and error as to how much is needed though with both mousse and creme. Somedays I have hair I'm really happy with and other days the curls/waves are pants. Today is one of those days
My hair is just past shoulder length and the plopping/plunking method that Fire Fox mentions wouldn't work for me. My hair didn't seem long enough. May try just scrunching the excess water method out though.
Also, I'm at the haidressers on Thursday so may ask about choppy layers although I do already have some layers in it.0 -
Thanks for sharing that abwsco, I also have layers now (that's why the curls appear easier than before when my hair was all the same lenght..). I went to Boots , they didn't have the cream but I decided to try the mousse.0

Hope you like it:) Not sure on your length of hair but I use one big squirt of it and then add a bit more.0

Hiya,
I have long curly hair . I have tried all combinations of shampoo and conditioner brands but nowadays I just use the ones on sale and Pantene leave-in conditioner, I can't live without it.On offer you can get it for less than £2.

I wash my hair, comb it or untangle it in my case, and last I put on the leave-in conditioner.
People are always surprised at how soft my hair is.
Previous to that I used Sunsilk leave in conditioner, but can't find it anywhere now.
Still looking for a more affordable alternative though, the prices keep going up and the little bottles don't last long when you have a big mane like mine.0
