Product for fine & wavy hair?

Hi all,
My hair is very fine and wavy, and I would like to bring up the waves as I really like them (at the moment they come out naturally when it's humid, but I can't make it happen at home!).
The mousse (I've tried a Pantene one, strong hold), leaves my hair like cardboard! I want something that enhances the waves, but leaves my hair natural and soft.
Is there any product out there that does that? I hate buying things that then I don't use, so I would love some personal recommendation.
Many thanks!

I have naturally wavy too, I find the best thing to bring out the wave is Herbal Essence the shampoo and conditioner for wavy hair, it's in a purple bottle, I find that very good, it enhances my natural wave and still leaves my hair feeling light not weighed down. And it is nice and cheap tooRaven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0 -
If you just want something to put in the ends to enhance the curls and stop the hair looking frizzy, this one is good:

Thanks but the reviews are awful! The last ones said that the product has changed and now it's really bad, also the only good reviews seem to be from people with thick (afro) hair, which is not my case at all. My hair is very fine and I don't have much of it
Does it work ok for you?0 -

Tousle me Softly!
I use that too, my hair isn't wavy but has choppy layers and it defines them well

I hadn't read any reviews of the product, I just used to buy it in the smaller size from Boots. I hope they haven't changed it, I hate it when they do that.
Yes, it used to work well for me (maybe it won't now if they've changed it :undecided). I've got wavy blonde hair, not particularly thick texture. I started buying it after they discontinued the John Frieda Blonde serum I'd been using for ages.0 -
I use a basic serum (can't recall which, nothing expensive) and then Frederic Fekkai Luscious Curls cream. It's not cheap but having tried endless other products, it is well worth it!0

I wash my hair, spray on a leave in conditioner and then I use Tigi Catwalk Curlesque Curls Rock Amplifier. When hair is dry I gently scrunch to soften the curls and waves - it does dry slightly stiff but nothing like a mousse does.
My all time favourite was Keune So Pure Crystal De-Frizz but it's now discontinued :mad:0 -
Boots Essential styling mousse curl at £1.02 and Boots Essential styling creme at £1.32 are both great on my fine and wavy/curly hair. Leaves hair non crunchy:)0

There is a fab website that will help you:
http://www.britishcurlies.co.uk/
There are some good articles and the forum is also really useful. The info helps you categorise your hair type and then figure out the products appropriate for you.
There is also a technique called sockbun - search for it on youtube - that is supposed to help get lovely defined waves. I haven't tried it though.
PS apologies to whoever on here gave me the details of this website - I can't remember who it was....0 -
Thanks abwsco, both products very good reviews, specially the cream... can you tell me how you use them? Ideally I would like to apply to wet (or semi-dry) hair and leave it to dry, but not sure if this will do.. sadly I don't have a diffuser now.
And also thanks to belfastgirl23, that website is very good! My hair fits the description of "wavy" hair perfectly, sadly the products they recommend are quite pricey!! But the forum seems to have lots of good tips.0
