Northern Lights...specifically in Norway

Me and the missus are hoping to visit Norway around early December, and with any luck catch the Northern Lights if weather permits. Norway is the only Scandinavian country we've not been to, so ideally we'd like to spend a couple of days in Oslo, then maybe get a train or boat up the west coast to improve our chances of seeing the Lights.
Obviously I've rushed straight to Google but there's an astounding number of companies that offer trips like this (though often minus the couple of days in Oslo). Can anyone recommend a company for this (or I suppose decommend any, and yes I have just invented that word, forever)?
The overall trip can't really be more than a week due to work commitments, which is another stumbling block for many trips, but we'll see.
Thanks.

I'd leave it until March when the weather is better. To maximise your chances you need to be in or north of Tromso0

The weather being 'better' is somewhat subjective - we want to go in December because we like cold, snow and all that.0
