What ID do I need for a 2 YO to go to NI?

If we manage to get to NI I assume my nipper is going to need ID. Is a passport the only option available? What's the alternative?

Cheers again,
S.

P.S. I've just thought is it now safe to travel around in a car with GB plates? I hope this question doesn't offend anyone.

If you are going on the ferry you don't need id.

Even on Ryanair (probably the most restrictive) only the adult needs an id - children under 16 travelling with them do not

I see plenty of GB plates. There is more "bother" over there than here.
Don't worry, come and have a great time. You'll enjoy the craic.
I came for a weekend and ended up living here. :D

Hi there Spook, might not be a bad idea to ask this in the dedicated N.I forum as well (regarding the id issue) but I can assure you, you'll have no problems over here using English plates. Most folk over here (on both sides of the community) have family over there and it really has never been an issue. In fact you'll usually find people go outta there way to be friendly to the visitors, its in our nature to prove what a good time you can have and if anything we overcompensate.

I've been dealing with business visitors for years and they genuinely look forward to their regular visits.

My next door neighbours grand kids visit 8/10 times a year and absolutely love their time here as its safer to play outside, than over there where their parents dont allow them out of their garden.

Come over and see for yourself, you'll not be dissappointed - promise. :)
