For some time I seem to be getting continually more and more adverts. What concerns me most is that whenever I go to a web page to look at things I am then getting ads from that Company whenever I use the computer. I have this am deleted cookies but for tnow it persists.
Could anyone advise me further. Also I am getting more and more spam emails often including some from the source of the web sites I have gone to. This includes a lot about PPI which I have neither looked at or have any need for such a service. My daughter had commented that I have a lot of spam Again how do I stop this. I have gone to the part where it says unscribe etc.
Any advice would be appreciated,
Sue

Which browser do you use? If you used Firefox there is a highly-useful extension called Adblock Plus which does an excellent job of removing adverts.
If you are getting a lot of spam on your current email address there is little option but to filter it out before you get it (your ISP might have configurable filters on the mail server software) OR to change your email address to something different. Of course, after a time, this new email address might also get spam, and the saga continues.
It might also be worth you downloading, updating and running (the free version of) Malwarebytes' AntiMalware to give some degree of confidence that you haven't picked up some malware.0 -
Also what JohnGray says and don't unsubscribe , if you do they know your email address is live. Only unsubscribe to sites where you have specifically subscribed for the mails4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Thank you both for the useful informations. Re unscribing I think I have only deleted the ones I initially subscribed to eg Groupon
Might have done others but I will now look carefully what in unscribe to.
I did the delete cookie this am and although I have not been on the computer much I think all those going crazy showing me dresses that I had looked at shoes etc etc Frazers Debenhams and more.
I will look at the other options you suggest. Just wondering if I need to delete cookies from my Desktop as well
Will let you know how I get on and thanks again
