Tax credits potential payment

Hi I received my last batch of TC forms 4 wks ago informing me of my 2012/13 payment schedule. There was a section which said I have a potential payment of £1800 which they will make a decision on when we have your final income figs for 11/12. I called and gave them these figs immediately(so 4 weeks ago). I asked the miserable, unhelpful advisor about the potential payment and you would have thought I was confessing to robbing my aged granny of her last £. He said after his initial shock that I had even asked that I should get some paperwork through in 2 weeks.
My question, finally, is: are people waiting for potential payments and if so, how long have they waited?
I'm sickened at the thought of calling - his reaction made my existing telephone phobia much worse!
Thanks!

    Thanks!

What you fail to mention is how you spoke to him , how I am spoken to certainly affects the way I deal with people on the phone.

Were you all sweetness & light or a screaming banshee ?
  • I dont think I've ever screamed down the phone at anyone- don't judge me by your standards. I was polite.
I was commenting on his rude, unhelpful attitude to a simple question I asked about a form the company he worked for had sent me!
Obviously hehadnt had his customer care training updated.

Thanks foe the one positive reply.
