Poor SSD Benchmark Results

After finally getting my Crucial SSD to run in AHCI mode I benchmarked it with AS SSD and am a bit let down by the results.
One of the big problems which I know I cannot change is that my motherboard only supports SATA2 but does anyone know what the difference could be if it was running in SATA3 mode? Will going from 3GB/s to 6 GB/s increase performance linearly(ie double it)?
Here are the stats:

Is there anything else I can do to speed it up a bit?

    how many times have you run the bench mark ,running bench marks on ssd's do slow them down
    the ssd might need time to recover now ,
    try running ATTO instead once http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1749/ATTO%20Disk%20Benchmark%20v2.46.html

    you should get about this sort off speed
    first ones a sata 2 vortex 2 120gb ,second one a sata 3 kingston 200v+ 120gb ,both on sata 2 ports
    Capture.PNG
    there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff

    those read and write speeds look good, remember you have a 3Gb/s (gigabit) SATA2 port this gives a theoretical maximum of 375MB/s (megabyte).

    however I would expect a performance increase if you were to upgrade your motherboard to SATA3 not sure how much though, have a read of this for 6GB/s vs 3GB/s speeds, although that was done in 2011 and there have been performance firmware upgrades since then.

    @thor

    What makes you think it's slow? Seems ok to me for a 128 gig on SATA2.

    Google for :
    as ssd benchmark comparison crucial m4 128 sata2

    I thought they were slow because I saw a few benchmarks posted on the internet but I have to admit I did not have time to pay too much attention about the spec of the system and disk they were run on and later this clouded my judgement.
    I'm well pleased that it looks like my SSD is not that bad after all.
