When do the best credit card offers come about?

Hi All
This December I have a 15 month interest free purchases deal coming to an end. (I have the money in the bank to pay this off).
A few months ago I thought I would have a look what was on the market to see what would be around when this deal comes to an end. I was impressed Nationwide (20+ months, I cant remember exactly) and NatWest/RBS(18 months) with what was around.
Now the best is 15-16 months.
Is there a general pattern when good rates come out? Will December be good (with people thinking about Xmas) or January?
I think if anything comes out between now and the end of the deal with 18+ months I will grab it.

3 months prior to Christmas would strike me as a good time for a bank to issue a promotional purchase-only rate..... which was when your current offer was available if it expires in December after 15 months0

Barclaycard and Halifax both have 22 months at the moment...0
