hi there guys im new to all this but i seem to have made some sort of mistake while applying for a credit card online, ive never had a credit card and im 20 years old ive had store cards and catologues in the past that ive never had a problem with always paid on time and all paid off now so i thought it time to get a card to build my credit rating, i applied for Capital Ones card via the internet and this is where my problem occured i filled in my details and i passed the online checks it was just asking me for an online signature, then my doorbell went and i left the computer on the screen where i was and left the computer for a while when i returned i entered my online signature and there website told me my session had been timed out and i was returned to the homepage, so i clicked into it the way i did before and re entered my details only this time it didnt ask me for an online signature it just told me that they had to do more checks and it will be up to 7days for a reply, my question is now why would that happen and will it put a mark against my otherwise clean credit score? because i know applying for multiple cards does affect it any answers would be greatly appreciated, many thanks Jack

thanks for the reply, this an update of my status and will this affect my credit score? i called them today and asked what the status of my application was and it turned out that the first application i made that timed out on me actually went through and i was accepted for the card and the second one i submitted also went through and was accepted i cancelled the second on there and then on the phone so im worried now that a mess up on there website timing me out will blemish my credit score for applying for 2 cards in one night any advice is greatly appreciated thanks, Jack0

Highly unlikely that the CRAs will record two searches on the same daw from the same lender. Separate lenders yes, but not the same.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Indeed, I know Amex and MBNA atleast don't show up more than once if it is in the same day and in Amexs case the same couple of days.0 -
