I was offered the chance to buy exactly what I was selling and thought it seemed familiar. Another seller had done a complete cut and paste exercise from my listing. Not my picture but laid out exactly as mine.
Reporting this to eBay seemed simple enough and I filled in the form without problem including the offending listing's item number and that of my own.
There was a pre-filled reason for report - images or text copied without permission.
However, I got an email straight back, presumably automated as it's Sunday evening, saying they need to speak to me to find out what the problem is.
Anyone got this far and phoned in? Would they act on the information I've already given them without me going through the pin number / call back procedure?

If its not your picture and makes no reference to you then i wouldnt have bothered too much.
If it had the same picture and made my auction look dodgy then i would complain.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Are you saying that the email asked you to ring Ebay?0

Has happened to me a lot - but ive never had to ring them - they have just been removed after i emailed them.
Ive stopped reporting them now though - as its not really important in the scheme of things. Just annoying.0 -

Thanks for the answers. Don't think I'll bother phoning as it stresses me up too much when I get a person who doesn't have English as their first language asking me stupid questions: I had this recently when, after describing the order the lights flashed on my modem, the operative asked me to check that it was plugged in at the mains.
Having looked at the 'competition' they are charging £6.00 postage whereas I am charging the actual £2.20 so it could work in my favour if someone looks at both auctions.0
