Accidental damage claim - home insurance

I made a claim back in June for accidental damage to my laptop. The insurance company said they would send someone out to collect it but still have not bothered. It took until 24th July for them to do my telephone interview and I was told I would hear back within a week. Two weeks after the loss adjusters still hadn't passed back my report so I chased it up .
They have now decided as I bought the laptop from a catalogue I need to prove I have been making payments off it or it is not my property. I am in arrears and making token payments but the account is with an external agency . The loss adjusters have told me for all they know the catalogue could be in the process of or have already requested the return of a 18 month old laptop for me not paying. I explained this is not how it works they do not take back goods but sell on the debt and Im confused how one of the worlds biggest loss adjusters do not know how this works.
Ive checked my terms and conditions nowhere does it state if the goods are bought from a catalogue they need to be fully paid for.

Does anyone know what I need to do ? I've said they will see I still have the laptop when they collect it for inspection but they just seem to ignore me when I say this.

Can you ask the catalogue to confirm in writing that the lap top is your property / responsibility and you are paying them / the third party via instalments?0
