Almost 3 years ago - I was shunted at a roundabout by a woman who was not concentrating on what she was doing.....
I started the claims procedures but decided not to proceed due to the expected loss of NCD and the fact that the damage was so slight - my (then) insurers were Co-op - who told me that no loss was registered so would not affect future insurance costs
Now - 3 years later - My quote with AA has brought it all back - I have a black mark against my 20+ year perfect driving record - they want me to explain the details of this accident - even when I tell the truth (that it was not my fault and I cancelled the claim) - they want to add over £100 to my policy costs
I have emailed Co-op to ask them to explain but am disgusted and concerned in equal quantities !!

Go elsewhere. sorted.
They reckon that if you have one incident you are more likely to have more.
No loss registered but its an incident. Which you still need to declare for a few more years.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

This is pretty simple. The Co Op may not use non-fault claims to load your premium - but that doesn't mean others won't do the same.
If you have any losses or accidents you MUST tell a new insurer - some take them into account if they're non-fault and others don't.
All that's happened is your new insurer does take it into account - nothing you can do about it. Co Op have done nothing wrong so there's no point hounding them about it, suck it up and move on.0
