Travel Insurance For The UK

Being a lady of a certain age I thought I would like to try a coach holiday with Grand UK a company that specialises in over 55's. I was incenced though when they insisted that I had my holiday insured. The reason I was given was it company policy.
Now I am not stupid I know that if I were to have to cancel my holiday then I could loose money. Equally if I were to fall ill whilst away I would have to make my own way home.
But can a company do this legally insist on me having insurance. Surely it is my choice.

Yes I would agree that it is your choice. UK Travel Insurance is normally pretty cheap, so you can arrange it anywhere. It does not need to be with the coach travel company.
Perhaps they do this, as they have had problems before where people were not Insured. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
I never buy UK holiday insurance now. For the same reasons you dont, I really dont see the point.
For overseas, well that is a different matter altogether,
I dont think that they can insist on holiday insurance.
If they ask me I just tell them I have it, they don't bother after that.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
