Virgin Trains

I'm using Virgin trains website to book tickets to Liverpool, on the "confirm booking" it comes up with "London Midland" services only.

Do Virgin not run to Liverpool?

Also, before booking with London Midland, it offers seating: quiet / table / window etc., etc., yet, it says seats cannot be reserved
I'm hopeless with technology, in addition, I suffer with MH issues, what may appear simple, I struggle with, may I ask, please be patient, thank you

Where are you planning to travel from?

London Midland don't offer seat reservation, with their Advance tickets, you get the Advance ticket and a reservation tickets which just states the time and date of train your booked on.

Despite your booking on the Virgin site (and you can book other TOCs tickets from any of them) might it be that the cheapest fare offered which you undoubtedly selected before going to "continue" is only available on a London Midland service?

    Cheers

Direct trains from Wolverhampton to Liverpool are run by London Midland trains.

Virgins trains; Wolverhampton to Liverpool requires a change at Crewe.

I don't recall selecting cheapest, I selected date & times, cheapest came up.

Yes of course you selected time and date to start with but then you get all those nice radio buttons to select the train/fare. The train you selected (which may or may not have been the cheapest) may have been on a London Midland service not a Virgin service. Thats my point. All these websites are linked together and you can get the exact same results going via the National Rail site which doesn't have any particular TOC banner across the top of the page.
