Overpayment Advice Please

I have an overpayment of £1700.
My entitlement of childtax credits for this year of £630 has been taken in full to repay part of the overpayment.
My daughter starts full time school in september and will be attending a breakfast club on a daily basis totaling £23.75 per week.
What i would like to know is when i inform HMRC and they re adjust my claim will this also be taken in full to pay the overpayment ?
I have heard that if you just claim child tax credit this can be taken at 100% which is what currently is happening, but with childcare element being part of working tax credits i am unsure what will happen?
I have rung HMRC to ask but the nice gentleman on the phone was less than helpful!!
So any advice would be great.
Thanks.x
