There's an ASD thread on MSE somewhere, you might get answers there from other mums who have to consider meltdowns if things are flimsy etc. or suggestions for DS games where they feel like they are winning all the time.

I do as much as my xmas shopping in Jan sales, esp Boots 75% as they cover bdays and few bits towards xmas. if you have a big family, or friends etc soon mounts up.
What makes my xmas worse is the token gesture presents, buy by saving on others it means I have the money for my DD and my family. Not that I go spending £100s - but I haven't got to worry about others.
