What a steaming pile of rubbish....
Not being able to understand something , does not make it a 'steaming pile of rubbish'.0 -

"The Council is guaranteeing the bank/mortgage lender the difference between the 95% and 75% of the mortgage for an initial period of 5 years"

One council is trialling a scheme of loaning £5,000 to people who can't pay their mortgages too.
Could be rolled out to other councils if it's succesful, though no idea how they measure it's success. It's just giving taxpayer money to people who can't afford to pay their existing debts.0 -
The way to encourage the banks to lend more is to raise interest rates so more people save and they have more money to lend.
is that why banks aren't lending at the moment then brit? With out additional funds the banks can only lend to the safest borrowers.
i thought you didnt want a return to lax lending????'Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.'

I don't mean national averages as any person with an average IQ would know that the housing market is area specific.
Thanks in advance..........
This can only be proved at the national level.
Hastings is well known as an area of phenominally specific house buying problems where every house costs £160,000, and every resident only earns 1/9th of this. Hence no-one in Hastings will ever buy a house again.
The rest of us in UK (ex Hastings) feel very sorry for your plight. If there are no buses or trains out of Hastings - into areas where house buying remains totally possible, then you must cry for help on all the social media you can. I'm sure someone will help you build tunnels to escape to the 'real world'.
If this doesn't work, just give me a shout. I know someone from the Camber Sands Liberation Army who might be able to airlift you out.0 -
Is this the same brit1234 who proudly claims to live in government subsidised housing in Chelsea for only 350 quid per month?
Fully agree that this sort of rent subsidy from us ordinary taxpayers should be stopped immediately.0
