Not using my credit card

Hello my new Vanquis credit card has arrived today and has £500 on it. I am having plastic surgery in november and want to use the full £500 then to pay off some of the cost. Is it ok to not use my card from now until then? or should i use it for little things i would be buying anyway?

I'm assuming its for building credit, considering its a Vanquis card? If so, use it for things you'd be anyway, and then pay it off each month and maybe about a week before you stick your plastic job on it.

You seem quite upset about this. The reason they have reduced it is that the banks have to account for all the potential funding they need, as well as what they actually need. This means it costs them money to have the funding in place for credit cards up to the credit limit, if this isn't being used then they still have to pay for the facility.

I had the same thing. Few months ago, though regularly used the card, they dropped a limit from five grand to a thousand, I closed the account and got the capital one aspire MasterCard instead.
