I note that you're not the OP, but that's a slightly odd date: the leave year can run from your actual start date, or some other date - 1st Jan and 1st March are both quite common. But 18th March? bizarre ...

1 Jan or 1st/5th April are much more common.

dont you usually work some time in hand before you get paid for (probably) this entire reason so even if you leave straight after pay day they will still take it out of what they owe you for working in hand. I know at asda they work a week in hand, and the company my partner works for is 2 weeks in hand. The cut off date for his wages is the 16th of the month but he doesnt get paid til the last working day of the month.0

To me it looks like employer could deduct final week's wages but those hours might not be the entire amount taken in excess of hours accrued.0
