Anyone had luck selling on Preloved?

Hello,
I've used ebay for some time now to sell unwanted clothes etc but finding the charges etc aren't really making it worth my while. The postage hike hasn't helped because I had to start using recorded delivery after several items went 'missing'. People don't seem to want to pay £3.20 postage (actual cost is £3.15 so I'm not ripping anyone off).
Anyway, I'm looking for other ways to sell a few items and heard about Preloved and thought I'd ask if anyone has had any joy selling on there?
Many thanks

Yes I would have the postage costs but I wondered what people's experience was on Preloved.
I'm currently making so little with Ebay with their charges. I used to add a little extra to the postage charge to cover the charges, but can't really do that now that peope don't seem to want to pay for recorded delivery. I charge reasonable starting prices but it's not really my while selling things.0 -
I have sold some furniture pieces on preloved and gumtree in the past but customers came locally and picked them up. I did sell some jewellery and charged standard postage of small package not recorded at £2.50. I now prefer preloved as you don't get charged unlike ebay0

Recorded does put people off, I tend to avoid sellers using recorded for low value items.
eBay can be expensive but at east there are buyers and as a business I would prefer selling for a smallprofit on a regular bais rather than having my stuff stock pile unsold. Preloved does, incidentally, charge business users after a 2 month trial.
However, any other site is worth a try if only to give yourself a second selling platform . I would sell anywhere I thought there were likely to be buyersI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I know recorded puts buyers off, but I got a lot of people claiming (falsely I believe - there are a lot of people doing this on ebay) that they never received items, which left me out of pocket to pay for postage and then to give the buyer a refund on top. So I have feel I have no option. (Mind you my postage charge is still a lot less than many sellers charge.)
Do you know if Preloved charges everyone or just business sellers? I'm not a business user, just someone trying to sell on unwanted items to raise a bit of extra cash.
I can't do a car boot as I don't have a car and can't persuade anyone to come with me.
Many thanks for your help.0 -

I send everything recorded like yourself as there was too many items going 'missing'. I do try and remain competitive though. I would rather lose a bit of profit to make sure they get the items.0 -
I sold my laptop on Preloved. I think it's a very good site; really safe and secure. Plus the lack of fees is always nice. It's especially useful for bulky or expensive items.
From what I can remember the transaction went smoothly; buyer paid via Paypal and I arranged for a courier to take the laptop. Had no problems (other than a BIOS issue, a laptop problem not a Preloved one!).0 -

Thanks Multicat, that's really helpful.
I think I'll give it a go. Nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say!0 -

It never hurts to use as many selling platforms as it takes. what works for one doesn't work for another.
