Winning bidder from Nigeria!!!!

Aghhhh, the sale of my mobile phone has ended with a winning bid from Nigeria.
Having had a quick look through here and knowing that this is one of the best countries for scams do I have to send it? They have requested a payment total even though normally people would just pay what they bid to include the postage fees. They are also a private buyer and I cannot see their feedback. The standard Tand C's state that I wont post to anyone with negative under two etc. I didn't however say that I wouldnt post to Nigeria.
Keeping within the rules of Ebay, am I within my rights to contact them, send my apologies and say I do not post there and to cancel the transaction??
Will contact ebay too when I can find the correct category to put my concerns in!!
Thanks in advance

First off, report them for false contact details. They will be. This will get them kicked off ebay quicker.
That done, you can raise an unpaid item dispute, get your fees back, and relist, not necessarily in that order.
Do you have any underbidders you can offer the item to now?My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Hi, thanks for the reply. No, unfortunately nobody else bid, so I will just relist the item then go through what you have suggested
Thanks again

Make sure you block international bidders, and users with less than 5 feedback and no credit card on file.
Remember, RM no longer insure mobile phones sent overseas, full stop!My TV is broken!

It does state on my selling preferences not to sell to countries I dont post to, but I did not specify what those countries were. Am I still covered under this caveat?

You're certainly covered by that - and also ebay don't force you to send to obvious scammers! My TV is broken!

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid.
You'll be asked for all kinds of ersonal details on the pretence of receiving money from Western Union next.
Watch out for the modalities!0 -
Alternatively you can expect an email purporting to be from Paypal saying the money is being held in an Escrow account - pending confirmation of a tracking number.
Guess what happens when you send the phone and get a tracking number?!?!?<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

My Ebay account was hacked into a few weeks ago and taken over by Nigerians, who also then hacked into my hotmail account, etc . . . (NIGHTMARE) and bid on laptops/mobiles, etc.
If it hadn't been for extra vigilant sellers, who had obviously cottoned onto this fact, and reported it to Ebay, even before I was back up on t'internet I would have been in a complete mess!
Someone, like me, has probably had their account hacked into. Ignore any requests to send the item and emails saying they have send payment. The hackers had even sent emails to the sellers from my hotmail account saying they had sent payment!
Ebay are really quick at sorting these things out.
