    Hi all
I've just found this thread via Google.

I have also been told by the CSA that my case is now with L&T, who don't update either the CSA or myself as to the progress on the case. My ex husband has over £10,000 in arrears, and they're apparently going after him for the whole lot ... great if they get it, but I'm not holding my breath!

In the meantime, am I supposed to just sit here and twiddle my thumbs until the CSA decide what they're going to do next? This is SO frustrating. Can I not take out a case against him in the County Court? or something?

    Help/advice would be greatfully received.

I would go to my MP with this info and see if they can press for info to be made available. I do recall somebody saying that they have to pass it back to the CSA after 6 months if they are unsuccessful though, so it may be worth checking with them if this is the case.

The more people who press for info may cause something to happen, such as a change to the agreement which specifies that no info is to be transferred. I think it is outrageous that they have agreed that they have no right to chase up for info - what they should have agreed is for a periodic update, say, every month or 6 weeks so that they can monitor progress, or lack of it!! And to keep the PWC informed of what to expect - afterall, in most cases the money is due to them and they surely have a right to know if anything is being done to secure it.

I tried, unsuccessfully, to get some information out of L & T today. I think they're trained to say "sorry, I can't disclose that information" to every single question I asked! I didn't ask them to disclose ANYTHING! All I wanted to know was their procedure and/or timescales... Again NOTHING except the standard "sorry, no can do". They did tell me I needed a case reference number, so I rang the CSA who gave me one, but then L & T stated it wasn't "their case reference number"!! They just referred me back to the CSA, who in turn were about as useful as a sponge leg!

Im getting a bit confused here. Ive been told not to get in touch with the CSA anymore as enforcers will contact me. ( Im now complaining about this to the Independant Case Examiner )
I now have no contact with any department with regards to my claim, so much so that even a registered letter of complaint to the CSA went unanswered.
Under the laws of the Data Protection Act you are allowed access to any information held about you by any department.
I would suggest Coolmum 66 that you put your questions in writing to the Debt collectors and send it registered to them but put in the letter that you are aware of the laws that govern the Data protection act .
As long as you are only asking for details with regards to information about you they should give you some answers.
