Great new LadyM.
I know this thread isnt about you being a disabled mum but I hope you dont mind me giving you this link on this thread as it is the best by far parenting forum for wheelchair users and they dont mind if you are not a para or not, we are a very friendly bunch who have found way to manage the problems you have not yet come up against and hopefully you will find the best way to transport baby etc.

Thank you Sunnyone and thank you so much for the link. I'm going to sign up now. It looks like such a helpful forum and I need all the help I can get.
I'm so nervous as a first time mum as it is, let alone a disabled first time mum.:o 2019 Wins

Just a quick question, how did you manage to convince your GP that you are suffering from ME? Was he/she supportive?
My wife's GP refuses to accept what my wife says are her problems re. needs. She has gone as far to write them down and plonk the letter on the GP's desk.
Still she says 'in her opinion'.
I was diagnosed by a consultant.:o My GP is one of those who believes in M.E as a genuine condition and is very helpful. I was referred to the local M.E clinic but they discharged me because I'm too severe for them to help me apparently. =/
It sounds like your wife needs to see a different GP, to be honest.2019 Wins

Its a very good site but the name puts off many people, its not just for people in wheelchairs or just people with spinal problems either, it has the wobbler section, the parents section, the drugs and other treatment sections amongst so many other which encompass so many disabled people and we welcome anyone. But I was very uncertain wether to post the link here in the open forum though because I post on that site and i dont want trolls following me there but by posting it in open forum it might help not just you buy other disabled people who need help that they cant get here.
I was AB when I had my daughter and I worked till 37 weeks pregnant and I was back at work when she was six weeks old because my husbands business wasnt doing very well in that resession
Fast forward to 7 years later and after yet another failed back surgery I was told there was no further treatment apart from drug therapy to allviate the simptoms so I decided to have my much longed for second child, nine months to the day from the failed surgery I had my lad by c sec (he was early because he had to stay under certain size limitations because of my pelvic fractures)
I know you have read about how the medical professional tried to force me to abort my son due to my disablilties and then later in pregnancy due to his "disabilities" which meant they could abort until birth (the scans got lost that proved he disabled enough to murder up until birth btw)
My son was born perfect and he is 16 now.
Disabled parents can be very good parents so long as we remember we brought them into the world to enrich our lives and not to be our carers ( and you know I would never accuse you of that AM)0 -

Well done, enjoy being an excellent parent with a car. I use my LRM and HRC to run a second hand car and it's essential xx0

Congratulations Lady M.
I remember reading your posts, and if I remember correctly answering some. I received HRM and HRC marked INDEFINITELY after asking the decision maker to reconsider my claim 2 years ago. I too suffer with M.E. and the struggles and pain that goes with it. So I know how you feel when you are granted DLA.
Regarding PIP, everyone regardless of their current DLA award is going to receive the dreaded form from ATOS, and it's just a matter of when. I have just returned mine yesterday!
I am drained after the effort of filling this form. I haven't looked at this forum for about a year since I moved to a bungalow near family. I stayed away so that I didn't read about this dreaded form and how people have been let down.
I am now at this time too exhausted to think of the worst outcome or what lies ahead. Perhaps by next week I shall begin to worry about the assessment I will have to go through!!
Good luck.0 -
Congratulations! And snap - I've just had my reconsideration decision and they've reinstated it.
The back pay was in my account before I got the decision letter (I'm probably the only person ever to have a sleepless anxiety filled night due to having money go in their account unexpectedly), so hopefully yours has come through now. My decision letter was dated 18/8, and the money went in yesterday, so four days.
Good luck with the car and wheelchair buying.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
