Washing Machines under £250

I'm looking for a decent, inexpensive washing machine, preferably around £250 or less. I don't have any credit so would rather not pay any more in full up front.
I live on my own so I don't suppose it will be getting used much. All suggestions welcome.

I just took delivery of an Indesit from Argos for £208, it was reduced from £308 and I used some vouchers that I had lying about the house as well so it only cost me £178 cash, I was well pleased

I have been using it all week to catch up on the mountain of laundry that had been piling up and it is a lot quieter than my old machine and if the smart meter readout is to be believed, it is slightly cheaper to run as well.0 -
Check around for a BEKO.
Good value-good prices-well built.
Relation had one in the family and she liked it better than her H******t.
Good luck.0 -
It might be worth contacting your local British Heart Foundation furniture shop. I was in mine today and they have some brand new machines as well as the 2nd hand donations.0

Thanks all, any other experiences or suggestions?0

I would disagree with BEKO being well made, in my opinion they are utter tosh, only marginally better than the diabolical White Knight scrap metal.
You budget is a little tight but understandable in your circumstances so how about a middle range brand. What also matters is where you get it from.
John Lewis are doing a basic Zanussi for £234 includes free delivery and a 2 year warranty so if there were any problems they should show up under warranty at least. Unusually for this price range has a delay timer so you can load it up in the evening and have it start later during the night, stuff will be done and ready to hang up in the morning.0 -

My MIL has got e 8kg drum and never had any complaints. We lived there for a couple of months and I liked it to which is my reason for having a look at it myself tbh0 -
The John Smith one looks good but does anyone else have any suggestions of bargain washing machines with guarantees?0

Just took delivery of one of these (except we got a black one):

Wanting black our choice of models was limited, but it seems to work very well.
Wouldn't touch Beko with a bargepole.Je suis Charlie.0
