I just pressed my back but nothing happened. I then washed my face quickly but still nothing...0 -

Well done, that's great news! Guess it must have slipped the minds of the staff that they simply needed to look at your receipt to know exactly what you'd purchased!
I'd stay loyal to that branch of Asda if I were you! :T0 -
james10999 wrote: »Well after a few comments on here I decided to go and spend my £53 odd APG today rather waiting and potentially not using it.
I went to another ASDA and did a big shop, and came to over £70. I got some of the same deals as last time to top it up (wine, tomato ketchup, pepsi etc...) but not as mad as last time!! When I nervously handed it over on the counter, the girl screamed out "WOW, HOW DID YOU GET THAT?!". A colleague then came over from her shouting and showed her and both just asked me how I did it. I just went back and said that I looked for comparisons before I went shopping and wanted to take advantage of the APG.
Because she scanned the voucher and it was over £50, a manager then needed to come to the till to authorise. There was then 3 of them at the till and the manager wanted to know the "secret"! I said I wasn't going to give that away as that would be telling..... She had no trouble and put it through. Before I left, the manager followed me over to the customer service desk with the voucher and my receipt and asked if I was OK showing the store manager and was completely my choice, as she was so impressed and was the biggest they'd seen and wanted to show him. I said OK as long as my shop was not going to be refunded, she laughed and said "don't be silly, we'll all be asking you what items you bought so we can do it ourselves!!!!!!".
The store manager came down and shook my hand and said "I've heard your a genius at the price gaurantee!". I didn't know what to say but he laughed and said he wanted to meet me personally and it's said it's great to see people spotting deals like this and it always keeps ASDA competitive to find out competitors prices to keep them low. He said the products I bought won't be that high for long as head office constantly check to keep the prices low.
After the manager left and I said goodbye to the colleagues, they said to speak to them next time to tell them my secrets and off I went!!!! I couldn't believe the response!!!!
I must say that a lot of people on this forum made me VERY worried to go and use this voucher and was made to feel like a criminal earlier on today. From my experience, the store were very welcoming and couldn't believe the positive response I got! I'm going to keep this APG up and maybe not as high as last time, but will still keep doing big deals as it's value for money. ASDA don't seem to mind, they welcome it!!
Bring on the next APG (got to check my receipt in 2 hours time hehe)Because she scanned the voucher and it was over £50
Vouchers do not scan over £10 i think..:think::think::think::think: They have to manually enter.0 -

James10999 - well done on not being trouted...but personally I would tread carefully. Please dont think that their praise is necessarily as genuine as you've taken it - at the end of the day, they work in a store that is designed to make money. Their carefully chosen words of 'won't be that high for long as head office constantly check to keep the prices low' to me reads that H/O will be notified of the glitch asap and steps taken to stop this comparing!
The staff will remember you from this, and whilst you have been treated favourably on this occasion (and I'm glad you were), they will not necessarily be so accommodating when you are doing this weekly/daily etc.
Personally I would stick to smaller APGs once or twice a week - you can quite easily build a stash doing this. And if a glitch occurs, do a couple of seperate shops at different stores, accummulating a few small APGs rather than one large one each time.
I'm not having a go, but I really wouldnt want you to get the same treatment I had, nor be lulled by a false sense of security that Asda applaud their customers for deliberately targetting their store for cheap shopping.
Great post Looby - spoken from harsh experience. Similar to somebody I know personally who was treated like a criminal in much the same way as you.0 -

I'm not listening to your advice any more, Scamps! I've pressed my back so many times that it is now very flat but scalded from the steam spray!0 -
