Now I'm  No. Actually I'm
I'm  for the flowing reasons.
1) I never wanted a costly replacement and even told OH so when he complained that my iMac couldn't receive the new update. He went ahead and bought it anyway. Without using topcashback too to add insult to injury.
2) after spending £££££££s (unnecessarily) IT DIDNT WORK
3) I had to arrange to send it back which was pretty stressful
4) my old one is now useless me as all my work is on there. For instance I organise trips for a large home ed community and have clubs and trips organised upto next year. All the booked attendees are listed but are now lost. Never mind all the kids work and photos etc.
4) oH took my old one in to be mended without my knowledge. Only found out last night. I've got to pick it up today when they ring.
And now.
5) He never got an estimate of cost beforehand:eek:
What on earth will the bill be. He thought it would be around £40 (his guess which is not based upon a quote. Just his own idea!)
Aaaaargh. Why can't our thrifty ways rub off onto our nearest and dearests?
All I can say is ouch, and double ouch!:(
Are you saying that you updated your documents etc to run on the new machine that you sent back but now they won't open on the old one?
The only way I can think of getting around this is if you know someone that owns a Mac the same as the one you sent back, open the file, choose save as, or is it export, and in one of those you should get the option to save the file as a windows document (not what you want) or an older version of Pages/Numbers.
Have you got an Apple store near you as they can be very helpful with things like this...0 -
Been away visiting family (and cemetary

Considering Apple has nearly enough CASH yes actual CASH to pay off the U.S Government debt twice over they are taking the pee pee a bit.:eek: I would love one of the new Retina MacBook Pros when they sort out a few issues, but I couldn't justify the 3K for the one I'd want.:eek:
When Steve Jobs died several analysts predicted the death of Apple after his product ideas ran out so if you want to get a decent Apple product, get one now before they go down hill.:(
Not quite
At the end of last year, Apple revealed it had $97.6bn in cash. It expects to use $45bn over the next three years
The US government debt is $15 Trillion :eek:0 -

HappyChappy84 wrote: »Slightly confused here, did you install Mountain Lion on to an 8 year old machine as I don't think ML supports machines that far back, besides, the App store shouldn't have let you download ML if that was the case.
So you've dug out your old Mac (which is how old?) and you've updated it? (if so, to what?)
When you upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion, or even Snow Leopard to Lion you must update your Apps (Numbers, Pages, etc) or they won't work. The App store will let you know if there is an update for these apps. However, if the machine is a few years old and you originally installed the apps from a CD I don't know whether apple supports updates for these over the internet, but I would think so. However it could be the case that they don't and the version of the apps you have are so old it's time to change them for the newer updated ones. If you've updated your OS and there are no app updates the only way to fix this is format your HDD and go back to the OS that was on it previously.
Westies external HDD packed up and she was quoted £700 for data recovery but I think the guy we took it too was at it.
Mountain Lion itself is a good OS but as it's so new it is still a bit buggy (or at least for me it is) and the latest update to correct some of the bugs have created new bugs (for me) but I updated as apple recommend by just downloading and installing straight on to the top of Lion and I've quite possibly got a dodgy install. When I can be bothered, I will format my HDD and install ML straight on to it just to be sure.
When he updated it and got it running it was unusable glitchy.
I returned it yesterday with help from customer support.
OH then tried to get my old one back running for me (which is snow leopard) and now my photos, pages, docs etc are inaccessible.
He took it to somewhere yesterday for sorting but I have just heard that it hasn't even undergone triage.

Not long back from Asda, used my APG for £15.07 from this morning to get more wine and chocolates. The assistant remarked that it was a high value APG
and asked what I bought to receive it. I told her it was wine and that I was buying more as it was good value. She scribbled on my receipt that an APG had been used but asked if she could keep it so she would know what wine to buy for herself. She was lovely about it and we had a laugh and a chat but it did make me realise how much attention you bring to yourself using high APG's....I was lucky that I was served by a lovely lady...:):)

I've tried a search and can't find anything.....
The Galaxy Bites are now in the 2 for £3 offer also. Please can anyone that bought these yesterday tell us if they compare to M'sThat'll be another one on the list
Just to make it clear, I'm not asking if they glitched against M's because I think those, like the M&M's choc were £1 per bag in A's until the price change todayI simply would like to know if it recognises that M's sell the Galaxy bites and what price it thinks they are in M's
THANK YOU!
