afternoon all....
with reference to the 150 extra cc points u get when u spend £50, on gift cards. I decided to go for it to pay for my new ipad. Bonus bit is it is giving u the current petrol coupon for £50 spend
so i did separate transactions to gain the most
1. 10 transations of £50 vouchers for comet =£500
2. got 10 x 5p petrol coupons (handy for family and friends) shame i didnt get them last petrol promo cause i could have used 5...only one per transation this time
3. extra 150 cc for every £50 spend so in total got 1500 cc (£15.00) and when i convert it will give me £45.00
sadly tesco dont give u point for buying them  but hey ho....
hope this helps someone :j0 -
jumblejack wrote: »HC. I agree it is rubbish. My OH bought a later version of an iMac as mine is 8 years old. Apparently my old one was not a late enough model for the update.
Well this eBay iMac was useless. We sent it back yesterday with a prepaid postage from eBay customer support. Rubbish seller anyway. It should have come with a wireless keyboard but some keys wouldn't work. He said he wouldn't replace it as it wasn't working when he bought it off eBay himself 3 months ago so why should he lose out
Anyway, when we put a wired keyboard to it, the iMac was completely unusable. We arranged directly with eBay to return it as I do not want to communicate with the guy as he used bad language in his last email.
OH tried to put my old iMac back on but now it can't access my photos, pages, documents etc:eek: they are backed up but apparently it isn't usual to go backwards not forwards with updates etc.
It is currently with a guy in a nearby town who fixes apple products. He has got the external hard drive and my iMac. I just pray it comes back ok. All my work is on there.
OH reckoned it was the update that made the newer iMac all glitchy and rubbish but we were so fed up with the seller at that point that we just wanted to get our money back.
Hopefully I can get to print vouchers again!!!!
It took me ages to get my old computer to do so. I just hope it's easier now.
Slightly confused here, did you install Mountain Lion on to an 8 year old machine as I don't think ML supports machines that far back, besides, the App store shouldn't have let you download ML if that was the case.
So you've dug out your old Mac (which is how old?) and you've updated it? (if so, to what?)
When you upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion, or even Snow Leopard to Lion you must update your Apps (Numbers, Pages, etc) or they won't work. The App store will let you know if there is an update for these apps. However, if the machine is a few years old and you originally installed the apps from a CD I don't know whether apple supports updates for these over the internet, but I would think so. However it could be the case that they don't and the version of the apps you have are so old it's time to change them for the newer updated ones. If you've updated your OS and there are no app updates the only way to fix this is format your HDD and go back to the OS that was on it previously.
Westies external HDD packed up and she was quoted £700 for data recovery but I think the guy we took it too was at it.
Mountain Lion itself is a good OS but as it's so new it is still a bit buggy (or at least for me it is) and the latest update to correct some of the bugs have created new bugs (for me) but I updated as apple recommend by just downloading and installing straight on to the top of Lion and I've quite possibly got a dodgy install. When I can be bothered, I will format my HDD and install ML straight on to it just to be sure.0 -
