Hello everyone - it feels a bit too much like September here ....

Fingers crossed to a week of lovely glitches and a nice fat juicy pdf that will give us something for nearly free so we can start new stockpiles :D

Awake before light again so I gave up and got up at 7, no use lying in bed and fretting. This week feels a lot like looking down a long dark tunnel - you have no idea what is out the other side and nothing you can do along the way will make any difference. The tunnel is a tunnel with a start and an end and that is it.

It started off with fretting about eldest child who has finally stopped dithering and booked a holiday. Instead of saving for a few months and booking when the prices start to go down for October she has instead booked a week away at the start of September - yes 2 weeks away. So now I am fretting that she is over stretching her budget. The holiday payment has had to go onto the credit card but they are going to pay it off when the bill comes in at the end of September. Then they will be away in London in November fopr a weekend and then it will be Christmas and then New Year and another 5 months will have gone by, nothing saved for next years car bills and nothing in the holiday fund for next year - they want to go and see friends in the states
Then there is eldest son also worrying me. He flies home on Wednesday, no idea when we will see him again. He is back in the UK on a course for two months from the end of September but its a dreadful 5 hour drive home through horrible traffic on a Firday afternoon or 3 changes of train and £60 train fare but at least its only 3 and a half hours to get home. Probally easier for us to go south to see him rather than him trying to come north.

And then there is youngest son who takes his driving test for the second time on Wednesday morning. In a way it will be simpler but not the outcome we want if he does not pass. if he does pass though I will have to ring insurance company and pay the extra and then we start a 3 day discussion as to why its not really a good idea for someone who has only just passed their test to do a 2 hour drive into deepest wales to do Gold DOE at the weekend :D

My car is still in the garage awaiting repairs. I got stranded 35 miles away on Thursday when a spring broke and nearly went into my tyre so it had to be taken itno garage on a lwo loader. At least the bill will go on next months credit card (along with the huge bill we are expecting for OHs car which is being serviced at the start of September)

None of these problems I can have any influence over whatsoever so I just need to get on with the things I can do something about - finishing off the self assessment tax form, sorting out sons student finance and the stray cat problem. Thats enough for 8 on a Monday morning ....

Magnums are £1 a pack in Morrisons :T
But writing an Asda v Morrisons list is not easy and I think they change prices on a Sunday night .....

I've also had Magnums come back as NA on a Tesco receipts

Two posts in a row that's sad - or lonely (will this make 3?) :)

Have a good glitch day everyone - not sure they have coupons in Portugal

They do in Belgium. We were in Ypres in a little town centre Carrefore (???) and I had a liovely time trotting up and own the ailses. They were very keen on the little shelf edge pads with tear off MOCs and competitions - like our supermarkets used to be in days of yore :T

well i have had a :mad::mad::mad: day, it was eid and spent most of my day :(:(:(:(:(
i so wish i could ave a proper rant:(
i must be a horrible person because everything i do and everywhere i go i am a complete disaster..........families:mad::mad::mad::mad:

anyway none rant related advice needed urgently pretty please
i have sold my first ever items of junk on ebay:T:T
however excitement soon turned to :( with a minor problem though....buyer paid by paypal when i asked for cash in ad
only just realised that in the description for old bed i put cash on collection, unfortunately :T:T ebay won't let me choose cash on collection option only at checkout/payment says i must offer paypal
payer for bed has paid by paypal and i have sent him my address by text and only realised when i got home and checked on lappie that he has paid by paypal now he won't answer his text messages:eek: shall i give up moaning and just accept the paypal payment?

Celebrate - you are NOT a complete disaster. This is the place to come for a rant, we will all support you, and a lot of us (including me) have problems with their families, so we know where you are coming from :(

As for the bed, a handful of unscrupulous Ebayers pay paypal for a collection item and then claim they have not received said item. You do not have a delivery note and you have no proof that it has been sent out. You would expect Paypal to accept a receipt that you have had the person sign, but unfortunatley said receipt has no tracking number so they won't accept it.

I think the Ebay board may well be the best place for the question, in the meantime check out their feedback to see if they have done the dirty on anyone.

I keep thinking about selling on Ebay, but I have become quite paranoid through reading the horror stories on the Ebay board!

Wow mhoc, it's certainly raining on you at the moment. Still, you must be looking forward to seeing eldest son and I don't think we will ever stop worrying about our kids and their finances, no matter how old they get. Hope your wish for a new pdf comes true :)
  • mhoc - we've all been there, you will come out of it, whatever will happen will happen and you can't change it. As you say, just do what you can, support those who need support, can carry on regardless.

Good morning to everyone, including the new people who've found this lovely thread :)

Thanks 3Dogs for the information regarding the new arrangement for price flops delivery. Not good for us, hope that the coupons are still downloadable, and that the fuel promo is as good as the last one!

mhoc, despite all the "maybes" going on in your life, you've already got it sussed, the only thing to do, is to do the things you have control over :) Hope the week will go well for you.

Hope everyone has good shopping/glitching days today.

I'm surrounded by coupons, pp's, apgs, 2 different pukka pads (;)) with lists that I can no longer make sense of!
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I very often get like that. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
