Help Needed: Credit card vs personal Loan

Hi All

Firstly I apologise if I am posting in the wrong area, I am a new user and I am desperately seeking help. I currently have to reduce the overdraft on my student account, which is due to expire at the start of November. This value is currently at 2900 that i need to pay back before then, to avoid any charges for the overdraft, which I would be unable to afford on a monthly basis. I have read that if I wish to borrow £3000, it would be cheaper to take out credit cards, rather than taking out a personal loan. However I am confused to how this would work and how I would go about it. If anyone could offer any advise it would be greatly apprecated.

Thanks

Oliver
