Osteoporosis Event - Any Ideas???
I work for the National Osteoporosis Society (NOS), registered charity number 1102712 and am currently looking for some help with sponsorship. The NOS is the only charity in the UK which is dedicated to improving the prevention, treatment and diagnosis of osteoporosis, a disease which leads to bones becoming fragile and prone to breaking. We are holding a one day event in Nottingham on 7 July and we are looking to raise some money to help us to run this worthwhile event. We have put together a package offering companies the chance to have a promotional insert in our audience packs and logo placement at the event. This is an extremely good offer for organisations as we are only asking for £300.
I have contacted many of the UK's largest companies and have not had anyone take up the offer. I was wondering if any of you out there have any ideas about how I can make a success of this? Alternatively do any of you know of a company or work for one who may be interested in becoming involved with this event? I would be grateful for any support which you may be able to offer. If you would like further details and a copy of the participation information please contact me at k.hall@nos.org.uk. Our website is at https://www.nos.org.uk

You do need to take the "What's in it for them?" angle. And personal contact is often the way to go.
Have your local members and their partners and families been asked to approach their work places or anywhere else they might have inroads? Knowing they know someone who might benefit from the day could be the key.
Good luck, and welcome to the boards!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Sounds cynical, but true, get someone local who is famous? to agree to donate something with a signature, memorabilia, etc. If you have A NAME it always helps. I have always found that local Rugby Clubs etc are a good source.
Sometimes it is better to get one good named company or person for free and that encourages the others to advertise or subscribe as they like to be associated with more well known people.
I think it's called a loss leader. Speculate to accumulate..0
