Cleaning PVC door.

The kids have been playing with 'moonsand' that the neighbours kid had and they have got it everywhere, even on the pvc front door and it has stained it.
I've tried washing it with hot soapy water but the stain is still there.
Is it ok to use turps/meths/petrol based cleaner on a PVC door?
Can anyone suggest anything else?

[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

try nail varnish remover - my bf fits upvc and they clean it all with a solvent cleaner like really strong nail varnish remover.0

Barkeepers friend cleans up upvc lovely and without scratching as its none abrasive, a slight amount on a damp cloth. It cleaned my sills other week due to seagull mess leaving a nasty stain. Failing that try Gif0

Another vote for CIF Cream.
Just done a door in my new house, and apart from the "glue" (have another thread asking how to remove this) it shifted everything - black marks, dirt, stains.. the lot.
Used a cloth wrapped around my finger, with small bit of CIF cream on it, and just rubbed away“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
I was told to use Cif as well. I did my whole conservatory as it had nicotine stains where the previous owners had smoked in there.
All cleaned up really well - back to white again!!!!0 -
Agree with the above cream cleaners are abrasive, hence why they work well on hard surfaces.
Any plastics without acrylic content will be more prone to scratching with abrasives. The more scratched the suface the harder it will be to keep clean.0
