anyone know how this works? my son has moved into a rented property and hasnt got hot water. this is the boiler but no instructions are available. He will contact letting agancy tomorrow but if anyone knows how it works at least he will have hot water until shown a demo.

Most likely its element is turned off. On the wall there should be either a time switch or a swich, that will / should control the element for the hot water.
If the switch is on look to see if the fuse / mcb is in place and on in the fuse box / consumer unit
