High frequency 'mosquito' alarm noise downloads

I have been looking into the Mosquito high frequency alarms which claim to discourage anti-social gatherings of youths.
Does anyone have any experience of these systems?
Anyway....rather than paying £300 plus for an actual alarm system, I wondered if it was possible to download the 'noise' to my laptop and then play it back through speakers.
Any advice?

Is that your pet in the picture? Is it deaf?

If you are planning to wave your laptop out of the window, in order to disperse a crowd, it will probably get nicked.

Googling your thread title will produce many results.

I dont really like those devices, it just seems doing something inherently anti-social to combat anti-social behaviour is wrong.

Plus a decent outdoor pa system would cost quite a bit anyway and one with enough power could get you an asbo yourself.

Not to mention that the sound is constant tone at a known fixed frequency, making an anti-sound for cancelation would not be too hard.

Pink light is apparently the preferred method and is less morally dubious; although less stylish

The cat in my avatar is dead, not deaf!....but I do have other cats and had wondered if they would be affected by the noise.
Not really planning on waving the laptop out the window, but maybe using an ipod in a speaker facing out of a window.
Googling the title of my thread did not get me exactly the info I needed so I thought I would ask you knowledgeable people.

The idea is to persuade my neighbours that running a 24/7 outdoor BBQ party with 8-10 youngsters is not such a fab idea after all.

Problem is it isn't just kids who hear it! Aside from animals, Some grown-ups do too, myself included (apparently I am just very good at hearing high frequencies, always have been though!).

How about a bit of Opera instead? Or some Swan Lake? Or McCartney? Something inherently uncool if you are a teenager, anyway! Radio 2, 3 or 4 even...

Unfortunately it does not differentiate between 'anti-social' youths and just plain old 'doing absolutely nothing wrong' youths.

Sounds like trying to fight fire with fire. Have you tried just having a quiet word instead? Doesn't sound like this Mosquito approach will do you any favours.
