Good news!!!Updated -New DLA claim done. Its been refused

I have received a phone call from the DLA this morning to tell me they will be making an award and that that it will be backdated to March when i made the original claim.

Thanks for all you help and support, in helping me fight this through.

Can look for a morning carer now to help make the whole families life a bit easier.

Hmm.. that was quick... I wonder if indeed the letter was missed when they looked at the case for initial decision. Let's hope it is a sensible award eh.

They told me it would be for high rate care and low rate mobility.:)

Thankfully this has been resolved, but you have to wonder exactly how many other letters are 'lost' or 'misplaced'.

Thats why I staple everything 2 or 3 times to the back of the form and put in there an index of exactly what is included. That way they have no reason to deny receiving it.

Surely it would depend on the age of the child? A teenager could have a hot drink with boiling water fresh from the kettle.

That said, knowing the child has problems with falling asleep, it is foolhardy to give them a boiling hot drink to hold.

Can I suggest you get some help to fill the form in, I got in such a muddle I went into a CAB drop in centre. They made me a appointment with someone in the main office, he was so helpful found out it wasn't me that was muddled, but the form!!!!

Last award I didn't have as many health issues but still got an award, this time nothing..

Luckily though my support worker is dealing with it otherwise i wouldnt cope
