Arrears Fee - Store Card

Hopefully I have posted this on the correct board.

I have a N*ew L*ook store card which I use only occasionally if I am purchasing online. As soon as I receive my statement I will pay the full amount that is due.

I made an online purchase around 4 weeks ago and just last week I was thinking that I should have received a statement by now. So I looked at my last statement from June which had a leaflet enclosed with details of the new way to pay (online).

I paid off the full amount (online) what I owed from my purchase 4 weeks ago and thought that was it, until today when I received a statement with an arrears fee of £12. This statement is dated 9th August so has taken 8 days to reach me, the original statement has still not arrived.

I checked my online banking and noticed the payment has not been taken although when I paid it did state that my payment had been accepted. I have paid the full amount owed online this afternoon after I received the statement and checked my online banking but I have not paid the £12 arrears fee as of yet.

Does anyone know where I stand with this? I have never missed a payment as I always pay in full as soon as I receive my statement which they will be able to see on my account. I usually pay over the phone (automated system) and have had no problems but I thought I would pay online as it would be alot easier - clearly not.

Did you make a note of the authorisation code given when you made your payment?

Unfortunately not. I write the authorisation code down when I make payment over the phone but I don't think there was an authorisation code on the screen when I made payment online - I didn't notice it today either. However, I did make sure I entered my email address this time so I have received the authorisation code by email.
