Parking Eye issue

I've been reading online and have read many threads on here about ParkingEye and how I don't have to pay the fine if I just ignore the letters. How ever this is my concern and the reason I've joined this site for this thread.

I sold my Rover 25 on 25th July and received a ParkingEye fine in August for a "contravention" for the 6th August 2012, now this car wasn't in my ownership and having read through their letter I took it up with their appeal department, how ever I received a letter today saying my appeal has been unsuccessful and I must provide further evidence. I have not had the DVLA confirmation yet nor do I have the details of the new owner. Because I have made this contact I am not sure if I should ignore further letters or to respond as I've already made contact.

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

You don't have to provide anything, you've sold the car and that is the end of the matter as you have informed them of this. I presume you've told the dvla of the change of ownership ? It's up to parking eye to go back to the dvla if they want the new RK details.

Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Correct, the log book was sent off shortly after the sale. The DVLA are likely to have processed it recently and the relevant details for me are in the post.

So I can ignore the letters now and no have to worry about any thing further? It's just my concern that I've dropped myself in it by responding to them in the first place.

You must not do anything at all, they are not some enforcement authority!

Ignore them, your case is no different, the letters are pointlessly coming to you to ignore, rather than to the new owner to ignore. At least you are here and know it's a scam, whcih not everyone does of course!

This will be good practice for you to get used to ignoring this scam in case it ever happens to you (because this isn't your fake PCN at all so you are untouchable, not that anything would have happened even if you had been driving).

Just play snap with all the letters matched against the pictures in our second thread 'PPC letter chains'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You will probably get a whole series of them, but if you put into writing that the vehicle is sold, and you have no legal obligation to respond further, with a threat of legal action for harassment if they continue to demand money. They would be committing an offence if they continue. You could sue them for this.

    Thanks for the advice guys.

I won't respond to this letter but if I continue to get further letters I shall do the above and threaten them with legal action for the harassment.

    Thanks again!
  • Hi, my mom is the person who bought this car from JoeyTaffy.

Where does she stand with this?

Joe told me that its not a law enforcement agency so she doesn't have to pay anything, any more insight?

    Cheers!

Luke I hope your mum has brains ;) anyway if they do go to the DVLA the advice would be the same and that is to ignore them utterly, I wouldn't be surprised if they chase the two of you for the same scam ticket.
