Hi fellow MSE users,
Me and a few friends plan to go SF at some point from until June (to avoid summer holiday rush) but we were wondering what would be the best time to go for good weather, cheapest time to travel etc?
Any suggestions would be of some great help.
Thanks in advance,
Jay

This thread has useful advice and links from the (numerous) threads about the West Coast.
My last trip was mid June this year and the weather was nice and warm with nil fog.0 -
No guarantees I expect. We went at the begining of Dec 2012 and our SF tour guide said he couldn't remember a day like it as visibilty was absolutely excellent. A lot of the time apparently there be fog !
As an aside the tour was brilliant http://greendreamtours.com/0 -
I was there June 2011 and it was around 17-22c, some days raining, and freezing at night. They did say it was unseasonally wet but still San Fran is a foggy prone place, and I would not want to go any earlier in the year than June.0

I've always understood that September is generally recommended as the best month to visit San Fran although, of course, you could get 'unseasonal' weather whenever you go.
We went at the very end of March a couple of years ago - had one hot, gloriously sunny day and the next day there was a howling gale and pouring rain.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

You don't go to SF for the weather. It's climate is a bit like the west coast of the UK or Ireland but it's a lovely place0
