It feels like we've been waiting for ever (and we've been without our deposit money "weighing us down" for over a month)... but we've finally exchanged and will be completing on 30th August
I know I should concentrate on celebrating, but that'll have to wait until tomorrow anyway... so can anyone think of anything else to add to my "to do" list please?

- Book removals
- Book holidays from work
- Cancel contents insurance
- Cancel rent standing order
- Hand in notice
- Arrange internet access
- Start changing address
- Book a Tesco food order

- set up a mail redirection (takes 5 days)
- sit down and rock quietly, wondering what the heck you were thinking
- get bus/train timetables for your new place
- buy paint/number for the door/curtains or something to make the place feel like *yours*
- plan and pack a survival kit (kettle, teabags, a cup or two - keep one out for the removal man)

Get insurance set up on the new house asap
If current owners let it lapse or move it and anything happens thats not good.
Find a removals firm asap. It's a very busy time of year for removals. Some of them can take a week just to come out and quote you.0 -
Removals firm booked, going to cancel contents from completion/moving date because we already have buildings and contents for new place (they wouldn't exchange until this was done and we thought exchange would be a couple of weeks ago)... Thanks for the other suggestions! Not sure I'll redirect mail as our rental contract will run until mid Oct, so plenty of time to pick up anything missed! You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0
