I've spoken again to Virgin Media who have agreed to send an engineer around to see the outside of the building to see if we can get cable - they said they don't need to see the inside and didn't even ask what floor we were on!! But they are going to let me know in 5 working days - we haven't moved in yet so we're not there to let them in anyway. I hope something can be done. I don't see why if other flats get it we don't, and yes I agree I bet the Director has cable!!!!

    Thanks everyone for your replies.

you are going about this the wrong way, virgin will run the cables up the outside of the building, if there aren't already cables running like this then you prob won't be allowed to do it, flats are totally different to houses you can't just do what you want just because you own the flat, i'm sorry i know this is anoying but like i said the management co is god like it or not & yes i do know i was chairman of our blocks management co for 6 yrs (however we ran our own & not someone from outside),

do you also realise that your monthly maintainence charge will prob only cover normal stuff like cutting grass, cleaning the communial areas etc any repairs you will prob be charged for, for example there are 10 flats in your block & you need a new roof due to wear & tear that is gonna cost £50000 so everyone will get a bill for £5000 it doesn't come out of your monthly charge.

you will need to confirm with virgin where they are going to run the cable THEN ask the management co if this is ok, if they say no then freeview it is.
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

There are lots of internet services that could be an alternative to Sky for you. Have you considered a Roku player that connects to your TV and your internet router with a netflix subscription?

The Roku set top box is only £50 for the cheap one and £6 a month for netflix. Cheaper than sky and no faffing about with cables and long subscriptions.
