Car Insurance and Medical Condition

I have been getting quotes for new car insurance online. Best i have found is with CoOp which is who we bank with also.
It states on there site under the terms before buying 'To speed things up we have made the following assumptions about you and your vehicle. Please confirm you agree with these before buying your policy'
1, All drivers of the vehicle, including you, do not have any disability or medical condition requiring notification to DVLA that has not been reported.
My wife does have a medical condition which has been reported to the DVLA and they have put no type or restrictions on her and is ok to drive as long as we inform insurance that we have informed the DVLA but not restrictions.
I have spoke to the CoOp on the phone twice to check and both people have said they can still insure someone with a medcial cond as long as we inform them. So what does point 1 mean above as it reads to me they cant insure people with medical cond

Point 1 means that the online quote system does not have the facility for you to enter details of medical conditions.
You would need to get the online quote and then call them to provide this additional information.0 -
You are misreading it. They are asking you to confirm that no driver has a notifiable condition that has not been notified to the DVLA. She has notified the DVLA, so no problem.
They can't refuse insurance on the grounds of a medical condition so long as the DVLA knows about it and is happy for the driver to have a licence.
My OH is epileptic, it has been fully controlled for years, DVLA is aware and she has a 3-year restricted licence (i.e. has to be renewed every 3 years). It's never been a problem for insurance.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Personally i wouldnt even bother with the quote system just in case that part about the medical issue and the DVLA gets missed off.
The prices wont be accurate.
Think of it saying you drive a red fiat panda registered on the 30th af February in the year 2027. If you agree continue.
You dont so dont waste your time with it. Use their full system which will ask or phone and get a proper quote.
It maybe the same price but you dont want any errors and find its missed off later.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I tend to do the quotes online and then always phone up anyway

You are misreading it too. It isn't asking for any medical details, it's merely asking for confirmation that there are no medical issues that the DVLA doesn't know about.Je suis Charlie.0
