Planning permission for window signs

Hi,

Was wondering if anyone knew about planning permission and whether it is required for window signs that are looking out onto private land and so the sign could not be seen by anyone unless they were on the private land.

Basically the sign is currently a "banner" (3 pieces of A4 paper end to end in the window). We have ordered a sticky opaque sign to fill the window but I need to know if it needs permission.

If the sign inside the property facing outwards then afaik permission isnt required. If it is attached to the exterior of the buildings then it would very much depend on what you were putting up.

My approach to planning on minor stuff is always do it and if you have a complaint then deal with it, that is what retrospective planning permission is for. And they arent allowed to take a dim view of you simply because you failed to apply in the first place.
