The council doesn't want to know despite the environment not being safe for my daughter , we cant even fit a normal cot in the the bedroom and the council saying 5-6 years I asked them where the hell is my daughter going to sleep when she's five a baby's travel cot the council officer said I surpose she will have to. On top of that my daughter.is getting injuries and they don't care. I don't want any money suing or anything like that just somewhere for my family to live advice please x

Firstly, please use paragraphs to make your post a little easier to read.
Then how/ why is your daughter getting injuries, why do you think the house is not safe?
Can the living room have a sofa bed to increase space?
If affordability seems to be a problem, perhaps you can post a statement of affairs on Debt Free Wannabe.0 -
Council houses are in very short supply, and as you have somewhere to live I can't see you getting one soon. A few bits of information that people will probably need to know before they can give any good advice:
How much does your OH earn?
How much do local places rent for - what sort have you been looking at?
Could you get a guarantor?
Do you have any income - can you get any?
Who is the "everyone" who keeps telling you you can't afford to rent?
Why is the environment "not safe" and how on earth is your daughter "getting injuries"?
What are you entitled (or would you be if you rented privately) to in the way of HB?Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?

Sorry not very good at posting using a phone.
she's had a cut in the night because the travel cot has netting and in my mum laws room there's 2 mattresses one gets pulled out in another room at night but when they are stacked my daughter climbs on them then gets on the cupboard then a high double bed, I can't shut the door as theres a draws in the way.
But the council doesn't care0 -
To angry bear
My partner earns about £779
We can't get a guarantor
I've lost 120 pounds on reference fee now
The estate agents I've asked said you won't be able to get privately rented on that wage
If I went back to work it wouldn't be worth it as all of the money would go on child care...ideas?0 -
Sounds like he needs to find a better paid job and a vasectomy.0

But, on that wage you should be getting tax credits - not to mention child benefit etc. Have a look at https://www.entitledto.co.uk
On £779 a month could you afford rent, council tax, water, electricity, food etc.
Try the debt-free-wannabe section for a SOA calculator which you can use to plan your budget.I've lost 120 pounds on reference fee nowIf I went back to work it wouldn't be worth it as all of the money would go on child care...ideas?Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?

There's a couple who got a son a week younger then my daughter they came from privately rent no debts ,no section 10 and they put there application in 1 month before we did.
THEY HAVE A COUNCIL HOUSE ALREADY WHEN THEY DIDN'T.NEED ONE
If u would like to be mine and my partners guranteur plez message0 -
If there are 6 adults living in this property surly one of them could childcare a bit so you could get a part time job?
What about evenings - shelf stacking, bar work?
When we were desperatly short of money I had 2 part time jobs to fit round OH job - one was as a night cleaner , 3am to 7am!0 -
My partner works 45 hours and 20 nmw0

Ooops, sorryIt is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
