All gas boilers are condensing, you decision is whether or not you want a combi.
If you don't have a family that likes its baths then a combi is a good idea. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

A combi can have a disappointingly slow delivery but is still delivering hot water when a cylinder would have run cold, so IMO a combi is ideal for a family which likes its baths.
Always assuming the householder has a contingency plan for the simultaneous failure of heating and hot water in the middle of a big freeze:D.0 -

Good point, and Combi's often require the gas pipe from the meter to be replaced for a bigger bore. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
What have you got now (make/model)?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

we have a 20 year old boiler that takes up half the kitchen, and have cold and hot water tanks. so am going for a combi boiler we have decided, have been told worcester boiler is the best. is the hot water set to a certain temp .:)0

So you'll be ripping out the storage tanks and putting in a new gas supply.
Worcester Bosch are a good make, why not look up the user manual and you'll find out all you need to know.

Fom OP's posts I'm not convinced the OP knows the difference between a Combi, and a Conventional boiler. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Hi i am thinking of having a new combi condensing boiler, are there any bad points ?
You can't run two showers at the same time.
Gas water heater approach
_____________________
If you get a separate 30kW+ gas water heater, you can get a smaller dedicated central heating boiler, say 18kW, which will be more efficient because it is better matched to the central heating load.
This has an operational benefit, because the hot water and central heating work separately, so if GCH fails, you still have hot water, and vice versa.0 -
If your old boiler works then keep it until it really needs replacing. Much cheaper than installing a new one for marginal better efficiency and taking on the likely risk of expensive servicing and repairs.Condensing boilers have a poor reputation for reliability and price of parts will make your eyes water. Also consider things such as you'll need to have power flush treatment at the time of installation and if that (and other things) are not carried out in accordance with the manufacturer then the warranty will be wriggled out of.
I wont go on, plenty of others discuss this topic on this site and its worth reading the pros and cons before a final decision by yourself.
Really consider keeping your old system if it works ok. Only replace it if necessary.*************************
