Final income support payment not been paid, but they say it has. What do I do?

I have canceled my claim for income support, I was due to receive my last payment yesterday, but the money never appeared in my account.
I really need that money this week so I called up the 0845 number and sat on hold for 50 minutes before being told the payment had been sent (by the automated system) and that it will be in my account by 5pm.
This has never happened before, it has always been in my account straight away.
So I waited, 5pm came and there was still no payment in my account.
So I called them again. I sat on hold for 1 hour and 25 minutes before being cut off because the call centre closed.

I called again this morning and was told that their computer (which is always 100% accurate apparently) says the transfer has been made to my account, and that if the money is not there it is a problem with me or my bank.
So I called the bank, they said there is not transfer showing to beade or pending.

What do I do?
I really need this money.

I dont know if your money appeared in you account today, hope it did.
But if not, the money would have been put into account manually, as a faster payment, these normally clear within three hours.
Its different to you usual payment, the system paid this and it would take three days to clear.
But a fep is an immediate payment, its also known as same day banking.
If you havent had your payment today you need to make another phone call Monday and complete a QB42. This is a missing act form.
You will take this to your bank to stamp, to confirm the payment has not be received and after looking at this form, the Dept will make a decision whether to replace the money or not.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

No I still have not received the payment.

I called them again today and was told that they payment has been sent so they don't know why it is not showing up, but if it still isn't in by Monday o should call them again.
I was on the phone for over two hours again today, I feel sick thinking ehat my phone bill is going to be like.
  • Phone Monday ask for the form they will arrange two appointments at your local Jobcentre, one to pick up the form, you then take it to your bank have it stamped, then return it to the Jobcentre hence your second appointment.

They will then fax it for an EO to look at, they will then decide if can be replaced.
I cant see any reason why this would not be done

Have a look at the site saynoto0870 to see if you can find a freephone or a generic number.

Hope it's there on Monday, it can be so frustrating.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
