I have recently recieved a letter of my local jobcentre, saying a customer complience officer is coming to see me... I claim income support
On the same day, My partner (I dont live with him) and his mother (who he lives with) have been called to go to the job centre.
I think a girl down the street has told them that i stay there sometimes at the weekend.
Could anyone tell me, where i stand on being able to stay at his? Am i allowed to stay for 1 night a week? Or can he stay with me? .. This girl has prob said im there all the time
Thanks in advance

Yes, you are allowed to stay one night a week.
There is no fixed amount of time - if they have been given an allegation that you co-habiting, then you need to prove that you maintain seperate households and do not live together as a couple.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

It's a common misconception that there is a fixed number of nights that it is ok to stay with someone. As previously stated what counts is maintaining seperate households. If you think about it there are alot of married couples who probably only spend one or two nights together if one partner works away but they are a definate couple as they only maintain the one shared household.Babyboo0

Yes that is right. There is NO time that is stated as being ok to have somebody over to stay if they are a partner. They are looking at things such as financial and emotional support - sleeping together is irrelevant! What you do as a couple, what evidence there is that you maintain 2 separate households (but this in itself doesn't prove that you aren't living with someone as you could spend half the time at your place and half the time at his place!)0
