I'm trying to build a friend's website using Frontpage 2003 but it's proving to be more difficult than I thought. I assumed it was more user-friendly than it actually it. I can't even get free templates which would make it a lot easier.
I need an idiot's website creator is it's possible.
TIA

Personally even for a beginner i would recommend Dreamweaver. Also the best book for web design for beginners has to be http://www.amazon.co.uk/Design-All---one-Dummies-Computers/dp/047041796X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1345223401&sr=1-1
With something like Wix, you will be limited to what you can create. Sure you can customize it but there will be set templates to work with with parts you won't be able to touch. If you're going to learn web design then you may aswell learn how to do it properly as you won't learn how as website works and displays from an online builder.0 -

Frontpage is the worst thing that ever existed, try notepad... OK maybe Dreamweaver. Even if you're using a WYSIWYG HTML editor, a basic knowledge of HTML is a good idea.0

Thanks. I'm not clever enough to learn stuff like that. I'm just doing a friend in Kenya a favour who has some apartments for rent. This will be a one-off.0

If you are happy to use an online web creator instead of the offline-type like Dreamweaver, I can highly recommend Weebly. By using an online tool it will also be easy for other people (like your friend in Kenya) to change and maintain the web page/site in the future. If you want to build the page and then put it somewhere else, you can export what you have created from Weebly.
There are many sites similar to Weebly such as Wix (mentioned above), 1&1 and others -- most are quite good. I'm recommending Weebly because I have used it myself for a couple of years and it's really easy to use.
Do you also need to register a domain name? If yes, then that is something Weebly can also help with.0 -

As you grow, "site builders" are likely to be a hindrance to your business.
Use something like Wordpress if possible.0
